UG HOLDS GRADUATION CEREMONIES

The University of Ghana on the 25th of July held separate graduation ceremonies for the University of Ghana Business School (UGBS) and the Institute for Continuing and Distance Education (ICDE).

The morning session presided over by the Chairman of the University Council, His Lordship Justice Samuel Kofi Date-Bah saw Graduands from the UGBS comprising those who completed Degree and Diploma courses in the 2012/2013 academic year.

Also present at the ceremony was the Minister for Education, Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang.


Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. Ernest Aryeetey


The Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. Ernest Aryeetey outlined a number of new initiatives the University is embarking on to make the University more responsive to the needs of society. Some of these initiatives include the restructuring of the University into four colleges and the plans to transform the Institution into a Research University.


Rev. Daniel Ogbarmey Tetteh, Guest Speaker for the morning session

The Guest Speaker for the session was the Executive Director and Head of Data Bank Asset Management, Rev. Daniel Ogbarmey Tetteh. He urged the graduands to aim for perfection wherever they find themselves after graduation.

The Afternoon session saw the presentation of candidates who completed various undergraduate degree courses in the Distance Education programmes for the 2011/ 2012 academic year.


Prof. Miranda Greenstreet, Guest Speaker for the afternoon session

The Guest Speaker for the session was a former Director of the Institute of Adult Education (now ICDE), Prof. Miranda Greenstreet.

Morning and afternoon sessions will be organized today for the School of Graduate Studies as well as the Schools of Nursing and Pharmacy and the Faculties of Science and Engineering Sciences.
