I went outside and the sky was still dark, tinted with a hint of lightness. The restaurant/bar facility is set right above a massive watering hole. Off to the side is a little viewing deck with a bench. I went to sit on the bench. The tree that covered the bench was alive with bees. The sound of the bees was louder than I have ever heard before. As I tried to meditate in peace, bees flew against my body. I kind of freaked out and moved to a less glamorous spot by the pool. I enjoyed a very nice hour-long meditation. It was such a beautiful site to open my eyes and see untouched forest reserve as far as the eyes could see. As the sun rose I headed back for my room. Someone told...
Prof Nyabadza made an exchange visit to the University of Ghana which is one of the many visits that Prof. Farai Nyabadza and Dr. Chisara Ogbogbo have undertaken in recent years under the Stellenbosch University and University of Ghana staff exchange programme. The exchange visits between Prof. Farai Nyabadza and Dr. Chisara Ogbogbo started in 2013. The research exchange programme is powered by the MOU between Stellenbosch University and University of Ghana, Legon. It is facilitated by the International Programmes office at the University of Ghana and the Centre for Partnerships and Internationalisation, Stellenbosch University. Department of Mathematics, University of Ghana Dr. Ogbogbo has visited Stellenbosch University twice on the programme and Prof. Nyabadza has also visited University of Ghana twice, the second one being in August 2017. IPO Peer Partners The International Programmes Office (IPO) pairs visiting students with Regular (Undergraduate and Graduate) Students who are in excellent academic standing and are of good behaviour, as Peer Partners to enhance cross cultural experiences. IPO launched this programme in order to ensure that the International Students integrate properly in the university and the country at large. As part of their activities, they go on city and campus tours, and attend events that display our rich Ghanaian culture including weddings, funerals and festivals. They also assist with airport pickup and drop-off, orientations, Welcome durbars and the annual International Week celebrations. Peer partners are carefully selected and interviewed by staff of IPO before they are assigned the role.
